During the GCSE exams AQA English Language, I devised a table that essentially organised the question where the end result was a table that included planning and answering of the question.  With Question 4, 'Compare the ways in which language is used for effect in the the two texts.  Give some examples and analyse the effects',  My students drew a table and filled in each section - LANGUAGE, EFFECT in text 1 and 2.  Then COMPARE - EFFECT.  From West London English Teacher, English and Media Teacher in Harrow, London.  www.westlondon-englishtutor.com
