How does a GCSE or A Level student write an essay that is worthy of an A or B? Most students need to be interested in the topic they are writing about and to build from there. I teach a student needs to gather information, learn it, and start with the essay question. Then build an introduction which is your essay plan. I agree with the above comment. Planning is essential before writing the essay. I suggest using mind maps which help to organise ideas.
